Might I suggest you celebrate by toddling off to your local indie bookshop or library and picking up a book written by a contemporary Irish author.
You can drink all the whiskey and Guinness you want but if you truly want something to stay with you, read a book. The thing about reading good fiction is it whisks you off to another time and place.
When you read fiction, you put yourself in a character's POV and by doing this you're experiencing life the way they experience it; you feel what they feel. I believe when we read well written fiction we gain empathy for others, and right now, we need this more than ever.

Add your favorite Irish author below in the comments and apologies in advance, for those not on my list. Let me know who you are so I can read one of your books.
